Super Dog ZekeHere Zeke is trying to decide if he should make friends with this cat, or if he should be afraid. Super Dogs go to places where we can safely introduce other animals. No dog should automatically go into an attack or prey mentality, just because it sees a bird or other animal. Even terriers, who have been bred for generations to kill rodents, and hunting dogs who will naturally get excited over birds, should have the ability to follow commands and leave other creatures alone. The best way to do this is to teach that Leave It means just that: turn away from whatever has your attention. It could be a bird in cage or out on your walk. Lizards or squirrels running across the sidewalk are no reason to break command and chase. In this case, Zeke is more curious than aggressive, his energy is respectful, and the cat felt no danger. A+, Zeke!
