Because a dog that is focused on you is not focused on other dogs, people, squirrels, or anything that could get him into trouble. Later we will turn this interest into a command: Watch. If you can get your dog to turn away from trouble with the Watch command, you need never fear walking past other dogs or distractions. Attention is the No. 1 most important thing a dog can give you!
